Results so far achieved are very promising - What can be said beyond doubt.
a procedural safety: No infection, , Dural leaks, , Neuropathic pain or any Deterioration in neurological status.
Improvement in terms of:
Reduction in spasticity
Spasms induced by attempted movements diminishes significantly.
Voluntary trunk muscle control
Sitting without back support and able to stand with support. is experienced by majority of Pts with upper thoracic injury with in 4months after surgery.
Useful motor and sensory recovery .It also seen in few Pts till about 2 years after surgery.
It is not a sham surgery , spinal cord injury should be taken as terminal disease & the most promising intervention should be offered to such pts.
